Each year, the Michael O.D. Brown Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Mike Brown by investing in the next generation of leaders. It is more than a scholarship; it is a belief in the potential and purpose of young people who are working toward a more just and hopeful future.
This year, we proudly celebrate the second class of scholarship recipients: 18 remarkable students who embody the values of strength, courage, and wisdom in their lives and work. They come from diverse backgrounds, bring unique talents, and are already making a meaningful impact in their communities.
On behalf of Lezley McSpadden, Mike’s mother and the founder of the Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons & Daughters Foundation, and Campaign Zero, we are honored to support these students with scholarships of $3,000 each as they pursue their education and passion in social justice, performing arts, and the trades.
Their determination, creativity, and commitment keep Mike’s legacy alive.

The Michael O.D. Brown Memorial Scholarship honors Mike’s life and legacy by investing in young people who are building something greater than themselves. This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education through trade programs, associate’s degrees, or bachelor’s degrees, particularly in the fields of social justice, the performing arts, or skilled trades. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, community service, and a demonstrated commitment to making a meaningful impact. In partnership with the Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons & Daughters Foundation and Campaign Zero, this scholarship embodies the values Mike’s life continues to represent: justice, education, family, and opportunity.
Through this work, Mike’s legacy lives on—not just in memory, but in motion.
