Celebrating Our Scholarship Recipients

Events ,

Earlier this year, we announced the inaugural Michael O.D. Brown Scholarship, and this summer, we had the honor of sending off our 15 scholarship recipients with everything they need for their college dorms, thanks to the generosity of our partners and the dedication of our team.

Our team gathered at McCluer High School with a U-Haul truck full of goodies ready to be distributed. The recipients, chosen based on their merits, were not just excited, but were also proud and inspired by their own hard work. This event was more than just a giveaway; it was a celebration of their dedication, perseverance, and achievements.

The scholarship recipients were previously honored at the Michael O.D. Brown Scholarship Dinner, hosted by the Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons and Daughters Foundation. Held at Webster University, the evening was filled with heartfelt stories and inspiring speeches. Lezley McSpadden-Head, mother of Michael O.D. Brown, awarded 15 St. Louis teens with scholarships in Mike’s name, celebrating their dedication to higher education in the performing arts, social justice, and trades.

Through this scholarship and our ongoing efforts, we strive to keep Michael’s legacy alive by empowering young people to achieve their dreams and contribute positively to society. The impact of this scholarship on the lives of our recipients is a testament to the power of education and support, inspiring hope and a brighter future for all.

We are immensely proud of our scholarship recipients and grateful to everyone who made this giveaway possible. Together, we are making a difference, one student at a time.

A Special Thanks to Our Partners

We extend our deepest gratitude to Proctor and Gamble for donating the funds for the essential items in the baskets. Their support ensured that each student received a comprehensive set of necessities, setting them up for a smooth transition into college life. We also want to thank Patagonia for their incredible contribution of apparel, backpacks, and dry goods, helping these students embark on their new journey in style and comfort.
